Course Descriptions
While the University Archives does not house any student records such as transcripts, we do have course catalogs dating back to 1906. Alumni often need course descriptions in order to verify education and curriculum to continue their education. Please contact us with a list of course numbers, and we will mail or fax the descriptions to you or another institution.

What are Archives?
The University Archives is the repository for official and unofficial university records pertaining to the history of Carnegie Mellon University. The University Archives serve as the collective memory of Carnegie Mellon and, as such, contain official records and personal papers generated by faculty, staff, students, academic departments, administrative offices, and campus organizations. The records and items chosen for inclusion in the University Archives have historical and administrative importance that extends beyond their initial purpose.

The University Archives has two primary responsibilities:
- Collecting and preserving records of historic value, making them available for reference and research
- Providing useful documentation of the policies, people, aims, achievements, and events of Carnegie Mellon
